A film by Justin Johari, “Who Speaks For Me?” (2008) takes us on the journey of seeking how to address social issues through music. Be it films, songs, books or art, every creative piece is subject to censorship in Malaysia.
With many artists in Malaysia under the threat of being clamped down of their creative expression, the notion cannot be beaten by the fact that creative voices will never be silenced and nothing could stop them from ever expressing themselves. The creative voices will continue to rise to address the social issues and advocate for better freedom of expression.
