In 2007, the “Walk of Justice” was organised by The Malaysian Bar after a video clip circulated depicting a prominent lawyer negotiating the appointment of judges with a senior judge on a phone call. This caused an uproar amongst lawyers and members of the public alike after calls for reforms are ignored by The Prime Minister’s office.
